Beadhead Woolly Bugger, Olive Carp

$0.75

Product code: 26890

Availability: Out of stock

Quick Overview:

Beadhead Woolly Bugger, Olive (Carp): This is one of the best flies known to man and the ultimate streamer. It is great for Bass, Carp, Salmon, Steelhead, and Trout. Fish it on a dead drift under an indicator, or strip it in. Always a go-to fly! Based on the Palmer which is one of the oldest of flies around. These have been reputedly used through the centuries as caterpillars, freshwater shrimps, nymphs, larva when fished wet; and from midges to moths when fished dry, with proven success. "Mr Barker (1651) commends several sorts of Palmer flies, not only those ribbed with silver and gold, but others that have their bodies all made black, or some with red and a red hackle." Izaak Walton (1593-1683)

When nothing else seems to work. I always go to this fly. Ugly but works consistently. We'll tied and haven't had any issues with the fly blowing apart on a long day of fishing (Posted on 1/20/2014)
