Carp-Throwdown-Warm-up

The Carp Throwdown is coming up on June 2nd and now is the time to get out on the water to shake off all that rust. Almost all of the SD lake have carp coming up into the flats look for little Insects, Crayfish and Algae to eat with the warmer water. But as you know or have read about, making a good cast doesn’t always equal to hook ups. In fact, Carp can be one of the toughest critters to get to eat the fly at times. That why we are hosting a Carp Throwdown Warm Up Day with Conway Bowman and Alex Cady at The Fly Stop. It will be on May 12th from 12 to 3. It is a free event and there is no RSVP required. We will be hosting a panel and will be tying up a few carp patterns as well. We will be geared this mainly for Lake Henshaw but a lot of these techniques will work great for most of our local lakes. Looking forward to seeing you all at the shop.
