The Willow

Well known only to its enthusiasts, Willowemoc Creek, or “the Willow”  is the sister creek to its more famous neighbor and eventual terminus, the Beaverkill.  It is the primary  "go-to" destination for some of the finest fly fishing southeastern NY has to offer. It has an abundant stock of browns, rainbows, and brookies, and offers peace and solitude to go with it.  Early season fishing is done primarily with nymphs and streamers, but come late spring, epic hatches of blue winged olives, hendricksons, and caddis, start to take place. As a smaller free-stone, these fish average in the 10 to 14 inch range, with the occasional 20 inch plus fish caught rather frequently. Some fish can even exceed 24" here.
