North Carolina
Located in the western part of the state, The Appalachian, Blue Ridge, & Great Smoky mountains of North Carolina have some of the most beautiful and amazing fly fishing streams anywhere in the US. That may be a mouthful, but it's the truth. With over 3,000 miles of trout streams here, rivers like the Davidson, Watauga, and Nantahala, offer some truly incredible fly fishing. In most of these clear and cold running trout streams and rivers, anglers can expect to catch brook trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout. There are many places to go and catch wild fish here in addition to all the places where the state stocks fish.
But lets not forget about the Eastern part of this state, particularly the coastal areas and outer banks, where some of the best salt water fishing in the world takes place. Here, runs of false albacore and striped bass make for some of the most exhilarating moments fly fishing has to offer. Throw in a couple big sharks to pull on, and you might not ever leave the great State of North Carolina. Click the links on the left, to see some of our favorite places to fish in this state.
