Saltwater-Fly-Fishing-San-Diego

San Diego just might have the most diverse fishery found within our county limits. From the Pacific Ocean, to our high mountain lakes, the opportunities to wet a line are endless!

SALTWATER

The port of San Diego is home to one of the largest and most modern sportfishing fleets found anywhere in the U.S. Our geographical location provides anglers with unparalleled access to some of the most exciting saltwater sportfishing in the world. Fish such as Tuna, Dorado, Marlin, White Sea Bass and Mako Sharks, all call these waters home. All of these fish can be caught using either conventional or fly fishing equipment, fight it home and deposit it back in the ocean to swim for another day. From a few hours of fishing, to a ten day getaway, there are plenty of options available to satisfy the needs of every angler. At times the Southern California Mako Shark fishing rivals anything in the world.

FRESHWATER

Did you know that Southern California holds more records for Largemouth Bass than anywhere else in the world? Within minutes of downtown San Diego, you can find freshwater fishing opportunities that give you a chance to go down in the record books. Here you can find fish such as Largemouth Bass, Trout, Panfish, Catfish and Carp, all eagerly awaiting a quick and easy meal. Most of these lakes are managed by the city, which provides easy access to public restrooms, playgrounds, and picnic facilities. This is a great way to spend the day with the family while you are visiting here.
