Fast action and quick tapers and thin-walled blanks make for a potent combination for throwing saltwater flies into the wind. Fly fishing for saltwater species is at best a challenge at worst for some a exercise in frustration. Thankfully Scott has developed a rod to make catching big permit, bonefish, or tarpon a little easier, but not easy. Not to mention a fantastic carp rod! The Scott Tidal Series Fly Rods are saltwater-specific fly rods with fast tapers to generate line speed and turn over large saltwater flies. Scott Tidal Review

Details

What's so special about the Scott Tidal Fly Rod.....they have most of the technology the Scott Radian does in a saltwater and friendly package. They load super quick, generate high line speeds, and have enough backbone and power to hurl and turn over a fly in the stiffest of wind. There thin wall design allows a fantastic feel that is delicate to feel every sniff of those bonefish on the end of your line. X-Core design means these rods have a larger diameter that has fast tapers and slim interior walls. These all work together to produce a potent combination for increased stability, touch, and feel in a saltwater rod. Tip-flex means these rods loads in the top 25%, and fast recovery increases line speed and makes it easier to pick up the line and reposition a cast easier than ever. Made in the USA in Scott’s Colorado workshop. Read Aussie's Full Review here Scott has a great warranty department and is great to work with!

Fly Stars
Very rarely do I get to saltwater fish, so the price of this rod was perfect for what I was looking for. It is has a lot of backbone and seems to cast with no problem into the wind. (Posted on 3/11/2016)
