Montana

Montana is one of, if not, THE premier fly-fishing destination in the world.  Cold mountain rivers and streams like the Beaverhead, Yellowstone, Gallatin, Rock Creek and Madison, all of which are surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests, contain some of the healthiest trout populations mother nature can provide.  Be sure to not only bring your fly-fishing equipment, but your camera and hiking boots as well.  The western part of the state has some of the best views from rivers and streams that you will ever see, not to mention all the wildlife that goes with it.  There are so many fly-fishing options available, that unless you live here, you will probably never be able to experience half of them.  From beginners to experts, this state is a fly-fisherman’s paradise.  If you are a serious angler, you will want to plan at least a 2-week trip to be able to sample some of the many fly-fishing opportunities that await you.  There are many fly-fishing guides throughout the state, such as Tim Mosolf in Dillon, that will help you have a great day on the water. Click the links on the left, to see some of our favorite places to fish in this state. Fish on!
