Northern Sierras
The Northern Sierra Mountain range is a far different animal compared to that of the Eastern Sierra. On average, this area recieves more precipitaion than that of the Eastern side. This creates some pretty big watersheds, and some truly amazing fly fishing opporitunities. Not to mention, some great skiing and snowboarding as well.
World-renowned for its majestic beauty, the Nothern Sierra Nevada Mountain Range boasts such famous landmarks as Yosemite Valley, Lake Tahoe, Kings Canyon National Park, Giant Sequoia National Monument, and the ever famous Mount Whitney, which is the tallest peak in the continental United States. Within the Sierra Nevada mountains lies the largest and most important wetlands of the entire Sierra Nevada Ecoregion. This supports the greatest abundance and diversity of bird life anywhere in the Sierra Nevada. Rivers like the Carson, Tuckee, and Walker, contain some of the largest trout in the state, and fly fisherman from everywhere in the world come here to pursue them.
